Having established cleaning and disinfection company BETİS in 1994 in order to provide services in the Eastern Anatolia region, especially Erzurum, and then İPEKYOLU İnsan Kaynakları San. ve Tic. Ltd. Şti. to provide services across Turkey, Mehmet Nuri Alim was born in Erzurum in 1969. Alim, who has been intertwined with trade since he was 11 years old, founded in 2009 Erzurum Strategic Entrepreneurial Business People Association (ESGİAD) to serve nationally and served as its chairman until 2021. He still plays an active role in the board of directors of the association. He founded the Northeastern Tourism and Health Association (KUTDER)in 2014 in order to contribute to and develop tourism in the North Eastern Anatolia Region and Erzurum. Having served in the management of many non-governmental organizations for about 12 years, Mehmet Nuri Alim was elected as the Head of the Tourism and Specialization Commission at the North Eastern Anatolian Development Agency (KUDAKA) during the period from 2012 to 2016. Having made tourism investments in Erzurum, Erzincan and Bayburt while he served as the Commission Chairperson, Alim also established a commercial bridge between Iran's Tabriz and Erzurum and has been instrumental in both the development of tourism and the increase of commercial activities. Alim has been a candidate for a 27th term of parliament. Alim founded the İPEKYOLU Industry and Business Federation in 2017 and is still its President. Mehmet Nuri Alim writes columns in many newspapers and makes programs on economy and politics on local TV channels. He is married with three children.
