Kadooğlu emphasizes public demand for peace, calls for end of violence

Prominent businessmen Tarkan Kadooğlu shares his insights on the violence erupting in southeast Turkey, including his home town of Cizre, calling for both the PKK militants and the state to end fighting and return to the negotiating table immediately.

Kadooğlu reemphasizes that people want peace, calling for both sides to immediately halt fighting and return to the negotiating table. To this end he says blame goes to both sides. “The government and the group are both responsible, those ties should have never been severed. Just as we supported the positive measures taken at the time (of the settlement process) we must also be critical for the violence that has erupted.”
